We live in the human race where we are relentlessly striving with obesity and struggling to uphold a hale and hearty lifestyle. I personally go through struggling to stumble on time to sustain a healthy physical activity and find ways to eat healthily. Since a healthy body is necessary for a healthy mind, physical education as a discipline is more familiarly concerned with human development than educational disciplines. Health and physical education is an opportunity to learn the significance of being active and healthy. Moreover, physically literate individuals persistently develop motivation and aptitude to understand, correspond, examine and apply various forms of movements (a wide range of health-related physical activities).
WHO defines Health as” a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely an absence of disease or infirmity”. A person who has good physical health is likely to have bodily functions and processes working at their peak. This is not only due to an absence of disease but regular exercise and balanced nutrition also contribute to good health. People, when necessary receive medical treatment to maintain the balance.
Physical well-being involves pursuing a wholesome lifestyle to lessen the risk of disease. Maintaining physical fitness, for example, it can protect and develop the endurance of a person’s breathing and heart function, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. I believe that the best way to maintain health is to preserve it through a healthful lifestyle rather than waiting until sickness or infirmity. People use the name wellness to describe this continuous state of enhanced well-being.
Health and Physical education as curriculum:
The physical and mental health of a person is a concern of two similar areas of education: health education and physical education; both relate to exercise, sleep, rest, and leisure activities. Physical education is often considered part of health education.
Health and physical education as a subject promote educational morals and goals that support the development of character. These include one’s best personal skills improvement to participate or play fairly, respect diversity and differences, esteem for individual needs and requirements, and strives to achieve good health and well-being. However, modern studies included sports as a subject to teach various games and encourage students to engage in recreation.
Moreover, it offers students the opportunity not only to be physically active, but it helps students to build confidence, learn different movement skills, and it helps them to work as a team. It carries an indispensable role in providing health-related knowledge, attitudes, and behavior and is used in schools to help students make intelligent decisions about health-related issues.
Health behavior plays an important role in a person's overall health. Because health behaviors are learned and can be changed, formal health education usually begins when children are most flexible — in primary school. Positive Health Behaviors It is during these early years that the negative effects of health abuse can be prevented throughout life.
Health and Physical education is a vast subject and it provides career opportunities. A wide range of universities in our country also offers degrees of bachelor's and Ph.D. Subjects like physical education, sports science, physiology, kinesiology, sociology, psychology, nutrition, or sports medicine are been taught. It also provides earning opportunities.
Job opportunities after graduation:
The Bachelor's degree in Physical Education prepares individuals to work as teachers in the classroom, as well as with other physical education-related settings. Post-graduation position titles could include:

In addition to these positions, those who choose to pursue an advanced degree after graduation are competitive for many highly selective masters and doctoral degree programs across the country.
In conclusion, making compatibility between benefits and outcomes of physical education to the core learning areas such as critical thinking, problem-solving, the ability to operate with agility and adaptability, the ability to analyze information, communicate effectively, and the ability to act innovatively, will be essential. One of the ways of enhancing its social value (and recognition) might be including and relying more on health education.
